California, Here I Come!

Four months ago one of my dear friends boarded a plane headed for California to attend an evangelism program. Tomorrow morning bright and early I, too, will board a plane for California. However, my trip will be much more brief. Alyssa, who many of my faithful blog readers have seen on here before, is graduating from Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism in Sacramento, CA Friday evening. Another one of my friends, Katie, will also be visiting her home, which happens to be in Sacramento, so I’ll be staying with her and her family. I’m ecstatic to see both of them, as well as many other friends. So if you need to get in touch with me email me and I’ll get back to you next Tuesday. God bless!

Abigail and Allison

These two girls are part of the Olivia babysitee club. Many of the children you’ve seen on here are past babysitees of mine and these two cuties are no exception. Last fall I spent many afternoons playing, reading, laughing, and cuddling with Abby and Ally. Another interesting fact, Abby and Ally were two of my first models about a year ago when OLP was first taking off. After a year of growing and changing it was time for another photo shoot. I have so many favorites it was hard to narrow down a few to share. But here’s what I ended up with…

This image is probably my favorite from the entire shoot

I love the motion in this shot!

Thanks you once again, Dennis and Mary. You have beautiful children that give wonderful hugs. Look forward to showing you the rest!

Random Happenings…

Life has been going at the speed of insanity lately. I’ve been cutting back on photo shoots in order to get ready for preaching in Tampa, Florida for the month of July. In between photo shoots and practicing on sermons I’ve been traveling the country. Or at least it seems that way. :-) Since I haven’t been shooting as much I haven’t had tons to post on here (although I have an exciting shoot tomorrow night) so I decided to share a couple of random “point-and-shoot” pictures with you from the past month or so of my life. Only five days after arriving home from Honduras (beginning of April)  Mom and I flew to Tennessee to check out Southern Adventist University. While there, we did a photo shoot of a friend who snapped this photo at the end of the shoot…

April 27-May 2: Mom and I spent the week in College Station, Texas attending Texas School of Photography. Here are pictures with our new found friends…

At the beginning of this month I flew to St. Louis, MO to meet Leasa Hodges and Luke Whiting for a 3ABN interview. I flew out on a Tuesday and back home on a Wednesday. It was a short trip but we had a great time. Here’s a picture of me and Leasa (and don’t worry, i didn’t wear that jacket for the interview I was just freezing before)

Luke getting “made-up” for the interview. Can’t you tell he loved it? :-) He was a good sport…

“The Many Adventures of Luke and Leasa”… here we find luke checking a fuse in our car. Long story.

Right after I got back from Missouri Emily and I made a quick trip to the zoo…

Lorina’s birthday was May 11 but she was out of town. As soon as she got back, I was gone. So once we were finally both in the same state we took her out to eat to celebrate. Emily, Lorina, and I ate Olive Garden…

I’ll be posting pictures from tomorrow night’s photo shoot as soon as possible. By the way, I LOVE it when you leave comments. Simply click on the comments link below each post to leave a comment. Have a fabulous week!

South Dakota: Day 4

After some more wonderful sleep we got out and about. Crazy Horse was our first stop. It was absolutely fascinating. If you don’t know about Crazy Horse be sure to google it and read about the project. Amazing. Here are a few pics:

Once we’d seen the sights at Crazy Horse we drove to Custer State Park. We lucked out in that it was a free weekend. No fees to get into the park! One of the neat things we saw was the wildlife loop. Buffalo were the predominant animals.

This guy was eager to hang out with us…

Dad couldn’t resist spending some time with this pretty horse

On our drive back to the house we took the scenic route. The Needles Highway is a gorgeous drive and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. When we got home we relaxed for a while then went for a walk. What a great way to wind down from an exciting trip.

South Dakota: Day 3

Friday morning we did a lot of driving. We drove around Deadwood, Sturgis, Spearfish, and Lead. Here are a few pictures from Deadwood:

South Dakota is absolutely beautiful. On our drive we came across this beautiful stream and stopped for a family photo:

Mom and Dave got a little crazy on our way back to the car…

Deer were everywhere! On our drives around the countryside we saw deer constantly. Here are a few:

The favorite activity of the trip for everyone except Mom was four-wheeling. We rented three four-wheelers from MAD Mountain Adventures and spent the afternoon riding around. It was a blast! The trails were endless and went everywhere. We went up and down mountains, beside the roads, and across pretty meadows. Since we left the point and shoot in Texas we didn’t have a camera on the ride but we snapped these at the end of our journey:

When we got back to the house Dave and I set out on another contest. Here are the results:

Once again, David took 1st place:

2nd Place: Olivia

Tied for 3rd Place: Olivia

Contest 2: 1st Place- David

2nd Place: Olivia

I snapped this picture on the way back to the house. Love the colors!
