God has blessed me with 19 years full of abundant blessings. I could truly fill volumes of the wonders He has performed throughout my life… and that would only be the beginning. I was born into a family of two loving, adoring, God-fearing parents who have shown me an example of Christ since day one. Six days shy of three years old, my best birthday gift was given to me: you guessed it… David Lucas Weber the Sweetie Man.
He’s been far more than a brother to me and I am privileged to call him a best friend. I was blessed with an Adventist education until the sixth grade and then went on to experience another huge blessing: homeschool. Mission trips, babysitting jobs, bosom friends, family vacations, volunteering at a hospital, attending Youth for Jesus, incredible friendships… I could go on and on. These are just the tip of my iceberg of blessings. December 2007 found me graduating from highschool. After much prayer and weighing pros and cons, I decided to attend Southern Adventist University for college. I thank God every day for this school and the people that make it special. Not only am I surrounded by amazing people everywhere I turn (teachers, classmates, friends) but my hall, suitemates, and roommate are direct gifts from God. This entry is getting long and I am ready for bed so I will let these next few pictures illustrate just how fabulous my friends are:
I woke up this morning to this lovely message
After lunch I checked my mailbox and found a slip of paper telling me I had balloons awaiting me at the front desk. My sweet girls and their fabulous parents had the sent to me. I believe it is the cutest balloon bouquet I’ve ever seen…
The polka dot one is my favorite
My day was already going so amazing I didn’t know that more was possible. I walked back to my room following Bible memorization and was greeted by the following…
My dear roommate had plastered my door with the following messages (and more)
Both of the mirrors in our room contained sweet messages. Here is one of them…
Later in the afternoon several girls from my hall took me to dinner at Panera (one of my fairly new favorites). As soon as we got back we attended the student week of prayer. I headed back to my room following the meeting and was contemplating what an amazing birthday I had enjoyed when there was knock on my door. Allana, Allie, and Kristi were bearing birthday cards and chocolate cupcakes. Heather tried to slip a card under the door and surprise me but we caught her and invited her to join our “party.” Aren’t they adorable?
Where is the ninth cupcake????????
We caught the culprit red-handed!!!!
If I took the time to list all the other blessings I received today no one would want to take the time to read the list… and I wouldn’t be able to get to bed. But thank you to all of you who played a part, big or small, in making my first birthday away from home extra special. I love you all! God bless!
