Over the next several days, I will be posting pictures and stories from Spring Break. Check back to see lots of crazy, fun pictures!!
Spring Break came and went faster than any college student would like. The first half of our semester is spent running at break-neck speed until we have thoroughly exhausted ourselves. “Ready for Spring Break?” was the question that permeates the campus the week before break. Everyone was all to eager to get a break from the hectic pace of college life. And now it’s over and only 7 weeks remain in the school year. Wasn’t it just yesterday that I was beginning college? Now I’m nearly done with Sophomore year? Enough musing. Onto tales of Spring Break!
I finished my last class at 4:45 last Thursday and raced out the door to babysit the Anderson girls one last time. We had a great time. Faith surprised me by getting home early, which allowed me to leave for home early. Surprising Mom and Dave with my early arrival was great! Early Friday morning, we were off to the airport. Destination: Orlando, Florida. Dad had been there all week for meetings and we were joining him for the inspiring Friday night meeting. The time in Florida was such a treat! We got to visit with AHS (Adventist Health System) friends we usually only see once a year. This was extra special for me, since I will miss this summer’s get-together as a result of working at summer camp. There were a couple adorable babies that need cuddling, so I spent a bunch of time snuggling babies.
We flew home Saturday night and spent Sunday doing laundry, moving stuff into our new house, and re-packing. Sarah joined us that evening, and we all set out on our grand Spring Break adventure Monday morning, picking up Dave’s friend Nathan along the way.
Spring Break 2010, my family rented a big cabin in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The plan was to do tourist stuff in Gatlinburg and mostly just relax. At one point during the week we had 14 people staying at the cabin. Monday was mainly our travel day. We got in Monday afternoon, got comfortable, and were soon joined by Uncle David and Aunt Donna. Not long afterwards, Cassi and Karie joined the party. Nothing too exciting happened Monday night. Just some good relaxing and plans for more fun in the morning…
The Cabin: Entertaining Angels
*note: the snow was not there when we arrived, but came later. This was the only picture of the cabin I had.
