Tuesday was an absolute and total blast of a day! We started out by sleeping in and lounging around the cabin as we woke up. Take a look at these sleepy faces:

Nathan was more awake, however, and took on a game of pool…

One of the most exciting things about Tuesday morning (for me at least) was the snow! When I woke up, I walked into the room Karie was reading in. “Look out the window,” she told me. “SNOW!” I shrieked. I then proceeded to race into the room where Cassi and Sarah were sleeping. “It’s snowing! It’s snowing!” I shouted to them. Sarah leapt out of bed, while Cassi, who had experienced more than her share of snow at home this winter, moaned and rolled over. Yes, the snow was a beautiful sight to behold. Here is the progression we experienced from our front windows:

Some enjoyed the snow from the comfort of the couch indoors…

Others (yes, even Cassi) enjoyed it from the upstairs balcony. It was BEAUTIFUL from this viewpoint!

These branches were directly off the balacony:

It was nice to know, however, while standing on the balcony that warm drinks awaited us downstairs

A quick snowy portrait before heading to town for some fun!

When we finally got up and ready, we headed into Pigeon Forge to begin our crazy day of activities. There was a strange upside down building in town that we had noticed on our way to the cabin the day before. Temple called and was ready nearly to Pigeon Forge and ready to meet up with us. Ruth, her friend and the one driving, knew where that building was so we decided to make that our meeting spot. We got there earlier than they did and decided to see what was inside. Before long, our hands had been stamped and we were ready to begin our fun adventure. Wonder Works was such a neat place! The exhibits inside were hands on and simulated all kinds of different natural phenomenons. We experienced a “hurricane” and “earthquake,” tested ourselves to see how long we could leave our hand in water that was the same temperature the ocean was the night the Titanic sank, and rode on bicycle/motorcycle looking machines that went upside down in circles. Once we had finished the exhibits, we played a fantastic game of laser tag upstairs. As a final hoorah, Dad bought us some game tokens and we played around in the arcade for a few minutes. We won enough tickets for Stephie, Ruth’s 6 year old sister, to get some little prizes. We had a fantastic time!

Dave and I welcome you to Wonder Works! (Dave chose to model this wig for the first 30 minutes of our WW experience. Nice, right?)

When we were all done with our Wonder Works fun, we met Mom for lunch at the Apple Barn. Talk about Homestyle Cookin! Our waiter at Apple Barn was the neatest Christian guy, who shared his faith and pictures of his family (he has one little girl and is in the process of adopting one from Thailand) with us, and then asked us questions about our beliefs. It was a nice experience.

These tasty treats were our appetizer. Apple bread balls, which we dipped in apple butter. Delicious!

And here you have it. Our yummy but less than healthy lunch…

Dad headed back to the cabin after lunch and Mom took us on our next outing. The next place we went to had many fun attractions. First off, we went through an insanely fun mirror maze. It was so difficult and way fun! Once we had all made it through the maze several times, we raced through a laser challenge course. This was fun, but too short to be worth doing again. Finally, we ended with blacklight Putt Putt golf, which was also loads of fun. Here are a few photos we took before heading back to the cabin:

We headed back to the cabin for dinner before racing out the door to catch “The Comedy Barn” show. It was HILARIOUS! Clean, family fun. Tuesday was probably our busiest day. What fun! I am so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. When we were leaving Wonder Works, some guys was doing a sales pitch to my Dad. While we waited, another guys started talking to us. In the middle of our conversation he said, “How did you get such awesome parents?” I thought about how I should answer this question for a moment and then shrugged, “I’m blessed.” I simply stated. “Don’t know how else to explain it.” He was taken aback and kind of chuckled, accusing me of giving a cop out answer. But it’s so true. I don’t know why God chose to put me in the family He did or why He has placed so many amazing people in my life, but I am grateful everyday for each and every one of them. I love you guys! And thank you, Lord, for blessing us so abundantly!
